Westbrook Practicing, Could Hit Court Soon

Russell Westbrook Comeback

The Oklahoma City Thunder could be getting a major lifeline back, with Russell Westbrook reportedly practicing at 100% and could even suit up against Miami tomorrow night.

The emphatic Point Guard is coming off a third knee surgery on his right side, and is now in full practice with teammates, but Scott Brooks is rumoured to be worried about the scorer’s return.

With Westbrook having been off and on the court for around a year now, it’s unlikely he’ll see starters minutes right away, and with Reggie Jackson playing so well, it definitely won’t be a rushed process by Oklahoma.

Kevin Durant has been on fire whilst Westbrook has sat out, and although his return is ultimately good news, Brooks will now face the challenge of placing him into a rotation that is already playing phenomenally well, currently 43-12 for the season.

KD had said that Westbrook would definitely return against Miami during the All-Star break, but he has since said that he jumped the gun slightly.

Oklahoma City Coach Scott Brooks had this to say about the return of his second highest scorer:

“His timing was pretty good, it’s always about being in game shape. All I can say is he looked really good today in practice. We’ll see how he feels tomorrow and then we’ll go from there.”

We will hopefully see Westbrook hit the NBA hardwood against Miami, if not, a return is certainly imminent.
