The Toronto Raptors have begun their London adventure, after the team arrived in the UK today (Monday) ahead of Thursday’s game against the Orlando Magic.

The Raptors currently sit third in the Eastern Conference with a 24-15 record, but now play just one game in over a week – giving them a lengthy break before heading back to Canada.

However, there’s no sign of home sickness just yet on the Toronto roster, with many of the players and coaching staff excited about heading through London over the next few days.

Team Co-Captain, Kyle Lowry was himself thrilled to have arrived on British soil:

“I’m excited to be here in London. Trips like these are a wonderful opportunity to spread the NBA brand and we are looking forward to the next few days. The Magic are great opponents and we are hoping that the fans enjoy an exciting game”.

The Raptors starting point guard even took to Twitter to confirm his arrival:

But Lowry wasn’t the only player to comment on the Raptors’ arrival in the UK, with Argentinian power forward, Luis Scola also sharing his thoughts about the trip.

“It is going to be fun. I watch the others teams play abroad and I think it’s a great idea. I think it’s fun and I’m looking forward to it. We get the chance to tour a different country, meet new fans, visit a great country. It is a trip where the guys will do stuff together, for example sightseeing, so it could help us as a team”.

The Toronto Raptors will be handling media duties as well as having practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, but will also be given chance to head out into the capital – getting a chance to take in the sights and sounds of the city ahead of the game against the Magic.

The Orlando Magic host the Toronto Raptors at The O2 in London on Jan. 14 as part of NBA Global Games London 2016. The game is live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Showcase or via NBA LEAGUE PASS (www.nba.tv) and will be screened live at 31 ODEON cinemas around the country.
