Top 50 NBA Players 2013/14 – #50 Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson

It’s that time of the year again, when we take a look at the 50 best players gracing the NBA court this season, giving an in-depth look at each player and their impact on their respective teams.

So with no further ado, we start our countdown at the number 50 spot with a new entry, the Golden State Warriors’ shooting guard, Klay Thompson.

Selected 11th in the 2011 draft, we overlooked Thompson last year in the 2012/13 list, but this year we’ve seen him develop into an even better shooter and legitimate scoring option for Golden State.

The second splash brother has upped his scoring, now averaging 18.4ppg compared to 16.6ppg we saw last season, whilst also upping his 3PT% and FG%.

He’s a real problem when he spots up, can shoot well off the dribble and has even thrown down some posters this season as well.

Defensively, Thompson could do with improvement, but sizing up at 6’7’’ gives him a clear advantage over other players at the two spot.

Golden State haven’t made the run which some of us imagined, and now are making some coaching changes, hopefully this won’t have too much of an impact on Thompson’s development, as he’s looking like a seriously good player.
