Pacers Sign Bynum on One-Year-Deal

The Indiana Pacers have taken the plunge, and signed troubled NBA Centre Andrew Bynum on a one-year-deal.

Bynum had seen plenty of success during his time with the L.A. Lakers earlier in his career, but has since been troubled by injuries and locker-room problems.

The seven-footer was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers before the beginning of last season, but suffered a fairly innocuous injury during a game of bowling, which eventually saw him sit out every minute of the 76ers season.

From there, Bynum headed to Cleveland in an attempt to rekindle his stuttering career, but performed poorly on the court, and was eventually suspended by the Cavaliers for non-basketball reasons.

Bynum was then traded to Chicago in the deal which saw Luol Deng head to Cleveland, where he eventually got waived.

But it appears that league-leaders Indiana are willing to take the risk with Bynum, who could prove a decent addition to a team who are already performing phenomenally.

We guess we’ll just have to wait and see just how well Bynum does under the tutelage of Frank Vogel.
