New York Knicks draftee Kevin Knox is excited about his new team’s trip to London in January, after being drafted ninth in the NBA draft by the franchise.

Knox, who links up with the Knicks from the University of Kentucky, will join the likes of Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr in the trip over the Atlantic – and he can’t wait for the adventure.

“I think it will be a great experience to go to London, I’ve never been before so it will be great to play against the Washington Wizards there. I’ll have a great time out there.” he said.

“It’s a great feeling [to be drafted]. I’m here, it’s the biggest stage in the NBA, I think I proved myself at the biggest stage of college basketball, so I think it’s a great experience and I’m going to have fun and enjoy it.”

“I think it will be great, there are a lot of young guys and they are looking for some more. I’m only 18 but I’m going to work really hard and I think it’s a great opportunity.”

“I haven’t really talked to any of the guys yet, but I’m really looking forward to seeing some of them tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to getting on the court and showing my energy.

“Enes [Kanter] is  a tough guy, a big guy and it’s tough to play at Madison Square Gardens, so I’m really looking forward to just getting out on the court and showing what I can do.”

The Knicks will take on the Washington Wizards at the O2 Arena in NBA London 2019, in what will be the Wizards’ first trip to the United Kingdom.

Kevin Knox will not be the only rookie from the first round appearing at NBA London in January, with the Wizards selecting Troy Brown with the 15th pick, from Oregon.

Elsewhere in the draft, Deandre Ayton was picked first by the Phoenix Suns, with Marvin Bagley III going second to the Sacramento Kings.

European star Luka Doncic was picked third by the Atlanta Hawks, but was then traded to the Dallas Mavericks in a deal which sent Trae Young to Georgia along with a future first round pick.
