What kind of player are you?

I would describe myself as competitive, tough, athletic. I can fit wherever I’m needed, but predominantly I’m a point guard.

What’s one thing that stands out about your game?

Finding open guys. They might not even be in my windshield. Everyone can usually see certain spots on the floor, I kind of see those unknown spots that guys are at and try to whip the ball out to them.

Where do you need to improve?

I need to get better at everything. Every basketball player needs to believe that because you can’t be great at just one thing. A lot of us want to master every part of the game.

Best piece of advice you’ve received from a coach?

Attitude gets you further than ability.

What are your thoughts on the NBA possibly expanding overseas?

That would be awesome to me. Going international and getting a wider business base, you’ll get more exposure and you’ll get more players from overseas. Over here in America, being in the NBA, we pride ourselves on having the best basketball players in the world, and the more you expand that, and leave it open to international people, it just helps the league grow. Not only financially, it helps the game and bringing new ideas on the court and new moves. It’s a beautiful thing if you can open up worldwide.

Would you like to be the point guard for an NBA team based in London?

Absolutely. If it’s the best fit for me at the time, I’m all for it. I love traveling. Once I get some money in my pockets and I’m able to go places, I want to see the whole world. I want to see how different cultures are, and if I’m playing over in London, and the team’s there, that’s special. That’s real cool. It’s a different feel.

Do you have a favorite British export?

Harry Potter. And the Chronicles of Narnia.

Which Hogwarts house would you be sorted into?

Probably Gryffindor.

Favorite character?

I like Snape! His intentions were always positive. He was trying to play both sides of the equation. In the end he turned out good and loving and protective when at times he seemed dark, strict and direct. He had a whole character change and it was just really cool how they did his character.

Do you have any music from British artists on his iPod?

Champion by Chipmunk and Chris Brown.

You mention “F.E.A.R.” a lot on Twitter. Can you tell us what that stands for?

Face Everything And Rise. I can’t take credit for it, I definitely saw it somewhere, I couldn’t even tell you where, and I just thought it was really cool.

What else do you use for motivation?

I like to use one percent. Just pushing that one percent when you’re at your last straw, and to push that extra one percent, that’s something I go by. It also reminds me that one percent of the world has the opportunity to be a professional athlete, so that last push you need to finish a sprint, or you’re tired and need to hit that last three, and your legs aren’t there, that last one percent will push you over.
