Chelsea FC Stars Battle NBA Half-Court Challenge

Chelsea FC take on NBA Challenge

It seems even some of the Premier League Elite stars have got some love for the NBA, with some of Chelsea FC’s biggest names taking on the formidable half-court challenge earlier on this week.

Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle, Demba Ba, David Luiz and Petr Cech all took part in the challenge, held by NBA UK as the #HalfCourt initiative.

Whilst not all five of the Chelsea stars could find the bottom of the net from 47ft, Ba, Schurrle and Cech each found the target, with the Blues’ Goalkeeper’s effort proving the most impressive.

All five players had their #HalfCourtChallenge attempts recorded by NBA UK, who appear to be aiming the initiative at a number of high profile sports teams and celebrities here in the UK.

The event comes after the super-successful NBA Europe Live game held in London earlier this year, in which the Brooklyn Nets took on the Atlanta Hawks, with Brooklyn bringing home the win.

Chelsea and Brazil star David Luiz had this to say about the event:

Everyone knows I am a huge basketball fan, and we sometimes have a game at the beginning of training where the players like to show their skills.”

Taking a shot from this distance shows some of the quality you need to be a top NBA player. We all need to work hard to make the draft for next season!”

Kevin Garnett famously donned a Chelsea shirt during his London visit, and whilst none of the Chelsea stars looked quite as good with the basketball compared to the future hall of famer, we have to say that we were impressed by some of them!

Hopefully we’ll be seeing some more of our favourite celebs and sports people here in the UK grasp the game from across the pond sooner rather than later!
