Big News as Hoops Aid is Set to Tip-Off Once More!

Lance Haggith, winner of the 2010 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero Award and founder of Sports Traider, the charity which Hoops Aid supports, delivered some big news at the launch event for Hoopsaid 2015 on Friday evening.

With the event’s continued growth Haggith revealed he is in talks to take the charity event Stateside.

He said “Hoops Aid just keeps on growing and the next step after May 10th is to take it over to the United States. We’ve already had great feedback from sponsors who want us to make it happen over there – and we will.”

The 2015 event which takes place at London’s 02 Arena already has a number of celebrities confirmed.

The current line up includes Jermain Jackman, heavyweight Dereck Chisora, Flawless, Ade Akinfenwa, the X-Factor’s Chico, former NBA players Shawn Jamison and Priest Launderdale and non-playing attendees including actor Colin Salmon, Ashley Young and Carlton Cole.

There are also a list of Olympic and Paralympic stars confirmed including sprinter Jamie Baulch, high jumper Dalton Grant, hurdler Andy Turner and wheelchair basketballer players Sophie Carrigill and Judith Hamer.
